Brim in 3D printing – What is it?

A brim is printed directly on the object to be printed and is usually one layer high. Brims virtually increase the base area of the object, which allows better adhesion to the heating bed. This reduces the risk of warping and thus also of misprints.

Warping 3D printing error
The risk of warping can be reduced by using brims.

In the slicer it is possible to define the width of a brim (specified in number of lines around the object) yourself.
